Back from Florida
We were gone for 10 days on a trip to Florida to get my concession trailer. It turns out to be too much beast for my small Saturn Vue - I'd always thought my car was big - until we tried driving with a trailer attached. Here is Kevin unhooking it. We are having a trucking company deliver it to us. In the meanwhile, I'll have to find a truck.

We took a tour through the swamps and bayous - we came across this critter and a lot of his cousins!

Inspiration for our yard...
It seems that every building has a court yard - and they are so beautiful. Though most all of these places are private - you can see through the bars keeping the riff-raff out.
I don't want to eat them, I just want to 'taste' them.
Bo is totally interested in the chickens. He sits for hours outside the run just watching. Max on the other hand could care less about the chicks - he wants rabbit!

Ugly Chicken
Remember when these guys were cute? They are in their teen-age years now... and we think this one might be a rooster - much bigger than the others of the same type. He's a Barred Rock.

Rex, seems so lonely - only the chickens to play with... so I brought him home a girlfriend today...

We got George today - she's also a Mini Rex. It didn't take them long to do what bunnies do best.

Does anyone have a good recipe or two for Rabbit? Doing some searches online and OMG there are some HUGE rabbits out there - bigger than a turkey!

Two surprises about the plants - one they grew so huge in just 10 days, and two - there weren't as many weeds as I'd feared.

This area is about to be renovated... I'm planning on adding herbs as a ground cover - some thyme especially - but probably basil too. I'm going to keep the flowers that are here, just add to them.

Future Garden updates...
Kevin has been working on a redesign of the garden. We are planning on a big expansion project. Raised beds for the garden, and increasing the total area. We have a lot of grass, which is just wasted being grass. See below for his idea of our future lay out (back yard only at this point.)
The black area below is the house - to the right is the dog run, to the left of the house is a walkway that I want to brick in. The areas with SF -- are going to be the new planting area. This is going to require drip lines to save water, our bill gets pretty huge... anyone want to help with this project? We are also interested in a gray water system. Anyone in the Lake Elsinore area know how to do this and willing to give us some pointers?
